Scribe Manual

The supplemental for a publication I worked on with Brian Searle is actually a manual for Scribe, which is EncyclopeDIA’s DDA data processing sister. Definitely reach out if you have any trouble accessing the supplemental or the link! This describes the file outputs from EncyclopeDIA and Scribe, as well as how to process data for Scribe.

EncyclopeDIA and Scribe both output files as SQLite databases. EncyclopeDIA outputs .ELIB files, while Scribe has .DLIB files. The layout of both databases are detailed here. The .DIA files are also SQLite databases, which can be useful…

I personally think that these files are under used. For example, the ion injection time and cycle time is detailed in the .DIA files for each scan. If anyone was ever curious about how their DIA experiment was performing, they could easily go into the .DIA file and get some stats to use. I view SQLite databases with SQLite DB Browser, but if I need to get information from multiple files, I will typically just use the command line.
